BIO

I started promoting records for one primary reason...my absolute love of and passion for the music, and I’m proud to say that after 40 plus years, I still promote music for the same reason.

Starting in Richmond, VA, on April 1, 1974, I began promoting all of the music on the Warner Brothers, Atlantic, and Elektra/Asylum labels and their affiliates, whether Rock, Top 40, A/C, R&B or Country, to radio stations in Virginia and West Virginia. I’ve worked for both major labels and independent labels, promoted to most radio formats at one time or another.  For the past 31 years, I've worked on my own - specializing in Americana for the past 22.

From its beginning in 1995, I’ve been involved with the Americana format and a fan of the music for much longer than that. I have seen and helped it grow. Gavin Magazine honored me as the “Americana independent promoter of the year for 1999.”  I’m a founding member of the Americana Music Association and served on the board of directors for 17 years. The AMA is a professional trade association dedicated to building and promoting the Americana genre and the individuals who participate in our industry. My primary goals as an AMA board member have always been to serve the best interests of the music, the integrity of it, and the members’ interests, while keeping an oversight on what helps the AMA accomplish these ends. I strive to help make sure that the AMA continues to remain true to its original objectives and to always do so with the utmost integrity - one of the most important qualities in life to me.

My musical tastes are widely varied, but tend to lean heavily towards various types of American Roots Music. Over the years, I have had the honor and privilege of working with and around many great creative artists and individuals. A few of the many artists whose music I have helped to promote include Kris Kristofferson, The Doobie Brothers, Frank Zappa, Bonnie Raitt, Dwight Yoakam, Willie Nelson, Steve Earle, Delbert McClinton, John Fogerty, Loretta Lynn, John Prine, Todd Snider, The Band, The Beach Boys, Average White Band, John Hiatt, Michael Jackson, George Harrison, The Spinners, Dionne Warwick, Van Morrison, Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, John Fogerty, Levon Helm, The Eagles, Pam Tillis, Linda Ronstadt, Queen, Lucinda Williams, Gregg Allman, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Delbert McClinton, Joe Ely, Carl Perkins, Electric Light Orchestra, Robert Earl Keen, Yes, Neil Young, Son Volt, Fleetwood Mac, Kelly Willis, Chris Knight, Doug Sahm, Jim Lauderdale, Joe Ely, Little Feat, Alison Krauss & Robert Plant, Band of Heathens, Alabama Shakes, Kasey Chambers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Allison Moorer, Emmylou Harris, The Belleville Outfit, Ray Wylie Hubbard, JD McPherson, Shovels & Rope, Jamestown Revival, Chuck Mead, Rodney Crowell, Ricky Skaggs, Chris Stapleton, Del McCoury Band, Nikki Lane, Kacey Musgraves, PistolAnnie’s, Mavericks, Patty Griffin, Holly Williams, Sheryl Crow and many other incredibly talented artists. .... far too numerous to name, including many relatively unknown but superbly talented artists.

I consider myself very honored to have been able to spend my professional life working in music which has always been one of my greatest passions.
